The crate once held 2 lbs of cheese with a tangy flavor of well cured cheese. Pabst Brewing Company, known for its beer, also produced cheese during Prohibition to repurpose their factories. The Pabst-ett cheese business was successful, selling over 8 million pounds by 1930.
